October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and once again our friends at WWE have joined forces with Susan G Komen to #RISEABOVECANCER and GO PINK!

To support Komen’s mission, WWE will utilize all its assets including WWE Network and TV broadcasts, live events, PSAs, digital and social media to generate awareness and encourage fans to get involved. Throughout the month, the WWE announcer table, entrance ramp and ring skirts will be co-branded and the middle ring rope turned pink to promote the fight against breast cancer. Fans will also have the option to turn their Facebook and Twitter profiles pink to show their support. In addition, a co-branded WWE and Susan G. Komen flag will be flown outside of WWE’s corporate headquarters.

“We are so grateful for our partnership with WWE,” said Christina Alford, SVP of development for Susan G. Komen. “Their ‘Rise Above Cancer’ campaign reaches women in communities across the country, bringing awareness and helping us fund lifesaving research, and support to families living with breast cancer who need our help today.”

Komen and its support of breast cancer research and awareness,” said WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon. “WWE remains deeply committed to this movement, as we utilize our global platforms to raise awareness and funds for a disease that impacts so many people around the world.”

Susan G. Komen and WWE have a history of success in raising awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. The partnership launched in 2012 and has generated more than $1.5 million for Komen to date. This past May, Komen and WWE teamed up again to support the Washington, D.C. Race for the Cure and National Women’s Health Week.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month WWE fans can buy #RISEABOVECANCER gear and WWE will donate 20% of all sales to Susan G. Komen while shopping the WWE SHOP you can also add an additional donation of your own.

While watching Monday night Raw this past monday I was touched when all the superstars came our wearing their #RISEABOVECANCER ring gear, but what touched me more was that my 8 yr old son went and got a WWE gift card he had and asked if he could buy a shirt to wear and make a donation. I believe it was this segment that moved him to do so!

Last Monday like we do every Monday  I sat with my 8 year old son Nicholas and we watched Monday Night Raw. Earlier in the week I had watched a video on Triple H’s Facebook page showing a very special young man named Elijah Mainville receiving a Money In The Bank briefcase. from The briefcase contained a real life WWE CONTRACT, just like the one Seth Rollins carried into WrestleMania 31.

Elijah Mainville is an 8 year old Lifelong WWE Fan. Elijah who is battling Neuroblastomia since the age of 3 has been receiving treatment for the past 5 years. In April of this past year Elijah and his family were told his cancer was in remission to only learn in July that it had returned.

Elijah like many kids has a dream of growing up and becoming a wrestle, I can only imagine his compassion as I have a son the same age with the same dream. This past spring while WWE launched auditions for their new reality show Tough Enough, Elijah decided to make an audition video and his mom posted it to You Tube.

The Authority, which consists of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon saw Elijah’s video and in true WWE fashion decided to make this little boys dream come true. After Monday Night Raw went off the air last week an arena full of the WWE Universe looked on as this Lifelong Fan signed his WWE Contract!

Since Elijah’s favorite wrestlers are The Undertaker and StarDust it would only be right that StarDust be present and welcome Elijah or as he will be known to the WWE Universe Drax Shadow to the WWE family.

For the Second Straight Year WWE has partnered with to take on Bullying. After blogging about this program last year, my son was proud to do many projects for school on anti-bullying.

Nicholas promoting Anti-Bullying at School is one of the largest global organizations for young people and social change, and global entertainment company WWE and its Be a STAR anti-bullying initiative, are teaming up for The Bully Text: Superstar Edition. The campaign, now in its second year, gets young people to take action around bullying by playing an SMS text message game.


From August 3rd until Monday, August 31, young people can virtually work their way through six levels of scenarios with guidance from WWE Superstars and Divas, including Roman Reigns®, Dean Ambrose®, Paige®, Natalya® and Alicia Fox®. Then, each player is given options to stand up and speak out against bullying. For example, “You sit behind Roman. Someone in the back of the bus keeps throwing paper airplanes at him. Do you A) Play it cool- it’s not your fight or B) play Superman?” Along the way, players will see how their anti-bullying skills compare to others, and ultimately whether they’ve earned the WWE World Heavyweight Championship title in bullying prevention. Every player will also receive the chance to win a Be a STAR rally at his or her school or community center.

NBC Universal and WWE today unveiled a comprehensive  campaign, “For The Hero In All of Us,” that will air across NBC Universal’s expansive network of two broadcast networks, 17 cable channels and more than 50 digital properties in addition to all of WWE’s platforms. In conjunction, NBC Universal and WWE will engage consumers through #MyHeroIs inviting fans to name their favorite WWE Superstars and share personal and inspirational stories of heroism.

In addition, advertisers can work with NBC Universal and WWE in new ways to tap into the scale and reach of WWE’s multimedia platforms, which all deliver a TV-PG family-centric, multigenerational and multicultural audience. Connor Michalek, a Pittsburgh native and passionate WWE fan who passed away last year from cancer, will be the first-ever recipient of The #Warrior Award, which will be presented each year at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.  The Warrior Award will be given to someone who has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance, and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of WWE Hall of Famer, The Ultimate Warrior.  This year, the award will be presented by The Ultimate Warrior’s widow, Dana Warrior, and WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan to Steve Michalek, Connor’s father.

WWE will present an award in my husband’s name each year at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,” said Dana Warrior.  “Connor displayed all of the positive traits that Warrior stood for, and he is the perfect recipient for this inaugural award. I am sure that Warrior is smiling today, knowing that this award is being given to a true warrior.”

With the love of his family and WWE Superstars as well as the tremendous care by Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Connor battled cancer like a true warrior for as long as he could, and his charisma made him a local celebrity in Pittsburgh. Connor’s spirit inspired WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon and WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative, Paul “Triple H” Levesque to launch “Connor’s Cure,” a fund dedicated to furthering Pediatric cancer research.


Connors’ Cure bracelets are available to purchase for $5.00 .   Whenever we have attended a WWE event we have  purchased bracelets to support  #ConnorsCure. I must say that whenever I wear mine it symbolizes to me to take a moment and be thankful.  We try to teach our son to care for others.  Connor has touched his heart and he reminds me each time we head to a WWE Event to text our donation for Connor.   As a parent I couldn’t imagine what his parents have gone through , but I hope they know that #ConnorTheCrusher is an inspiration to this #WWEMOM and many other #Warriors.
