Disney•Pixar’s “Finding Dory” to Dive into Theaters November 25, 2015

Like Ellen DeGeneres said “I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,” This past week Disney Pixar announced that “Finding Dory”—an all-new big-screen adventure will dive into theaters on Nov. 25, 2015.

When Dory said “just keep swimming” in 2003’s Oscar®-winning film “Finding Nemo,” she could not have imagined what was in store for her nor would she have been able to remember.  Having to wait twelve years for the sequel to the award winning Finding Nemo is sure to be worth it. T

he buzz was all around my office yesterday as we have already planned a staff day to go see our old friends Marlin, Nemo, Dory and the rest of the  Tank Gang.

Director and Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton takes audiences back to the extraordinary underwater world created in the original film. “There is no Dory without Ellen,” said Stanton. “She won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world—not to mention our team here at Pixar. One thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin. In ‘Finding Dory,’ she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way.”

According to Stanton, “Finding Dory” takes place about a year after the first film, and features returning favorites Marlin, Nemo and the Tank Gang, among others. Set in part along the California coastline, the story also welcomes a host of new characters, including a few who will prove to be a very important part of Dory’s life.

DeGeneres’ distinctive comic voice has resonated with audiences from her first stand-up comedy appearances through her work today on television, in film and in the literary world. Her syndicated talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” is in its 10th season and has earned 38 Daytime Emmy® Awards. DeGeneres has won 12 People’s Choice Awards and the Teen Choice Award for Choice Comedian for three consecutive years. Additionally, her show won two Genesis Awards and a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Talk Show Episode. For her unforgettable turn as Dory, DeGeneres was nominated for an MTV Movie Award for Best Comedic Performance.

In The Heights Westchester Broadway Theatre A MUST SEE!

Since our Sometimes…You Just Need Husband and Wife Time Together Weekend both my husband and I have been going non stop. Tonight we were able to enjoy some Husband and Wife time and stepped out locally and saw  In The Heights at Westchester Broadway Theatre. It is A MUST SEE. Originally scheduled to have it’s last performance this past Sunday, In The Heights has been extended with a second run of shows through April 7, 2013.

In The Heights based on the 2008 Tony Award winning musical, weaves a tale about three days in the life of Washington Heights, a vibrant and tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan. It’s a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music! The unique, and exhilarating score, is a dazzling array of hip hop, salsa, pop, soul, and reggae, including, “When You’re Home”, “It Won’t Be Long Now”, and “In The Heights”.

As the show unfolds, the characters and their intertwined lives are revealed. Usnavi who owns the local bodega where the locals stop each morning for their coffee and daily newspaper. When the regulars realize that a winning $96,000.00 lotto ticket has been sold at the bodega, they dream of what they would do with their winnings should it be one of them.  When Usnavi’s Abuela Claudia reveals she is the holder of the ticket Usnavi and his Abuela dream of returning to the Dominican Republic.

The neighborhood is changing,  along with Usnavi closing the bodega,  The Rosario’s are selling the car service to pay for their daughter Nina’s college tuition and Daniella is moving the salon because the area rent is just too much to handle. Usnavi can save the corner if his cousin Sonny can help him see he should  stay and invest In The Heights. Will Usnavi change his mind and save their corner In The Heights?

Growing up in a small tight knit community in Yonkers where we were the third and final generation to live, In The Heights hit close to home. You should never forget from where you come and how you got where you are. A life lesson in that parents and grandparents make sacrafices to teach us values that wether we realize it or not they are always instilled in us.
